Some of us believers don’t even know we have the divine nature of Christ. In the Book of Romans 8:14, “…as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” John 1:12 also states that “…as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” You are a child of God, which means you have the divine nature in you! Wake up! Be who God wants you to be!
At salvation, when we surrendered to Jesus Christ, we were reborn in Christ. John 1:13 says, “…who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” This means that when you gave your life to Christ, the indices used to measure your life changed; you became a partaker of the divine nature of Christ. This is also why the scripture says in Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Do not allow yourself to be measured against the standards of this world because you have been reborn through Christ at his death and resurrection.
Going further, you are worth the Blood of Jesus Christ, and this makes you a partaker of His divine nature. You have to believe this truth, as well as live in the consciousness of it. Until you come to terms with this reality and live consciously in it, until you realize that you have that divine nature and live in that truth, you may not enjoy the privileges of being a child of God. Be conscious of who and whose you are, just as Jesus was when he lived on earth. When you became born again, God put a new spirit—His own Spirit, in you. In Ezekiel 11:19, God says, “Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them…” The Spirit of God lives in you, so you don’t have to be mediocre.
Also, we don’t have to be afraid and hide. The only place we are hidden is in Christ; apart from Him, we have no other place of hiding in this world. Because we are hidden in Christ, we have the light of God in us and therefore, we are partakers of the divine nature of God.
Jesus said in Luke 11:33, “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.” We have no reason to hide in this world, but we must shine the light of God as partakers of His divine nature for the world to see. Your life is the expression of God’s glory, so you have no business hiding.
According to 2 Corinthians 3:2–5, as believers, we are the letter of the good news of Christ’s redemptive work because the Gospel is written in our hearts. We do not need to tell people that we are believers, but they should be able to tell who we are by reading us—our actions, character, dealings, etc.
In the same vein, be bold and speak up; you have the divine nature of God in you. The Kingdom of God is forcefully advancing and we must partake in this; do not listen to the naysayers. We also speak boldly because we have Christ in us; we are not timid for any reason at all. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” This is how we should approach God, with boldness and faith.
Henceforth, make the choice to deliberately live your life with the consciousness of who you truly are—a partaker of the divine nature of God.
God bless you!
